Where Should You Buy Souvenirs In Japan
If you’re wondering where should you buy souvenirs in Japan, any area with a major tourist attraction is going to have many souvenir shops.
But keep in mind that youβre in another country, so almost anything, anywhere, can be a worthy souvenir. For simplicity, I love giving out Japanese snacks as gifts as the Japanese snacks are typically lighter with less fat, salt, sugar and calories, as well as taste different, but good.
Where Should You Buy Souvenirs In Japan - Inexpensive Japanese Gifts And Japanese Souvenirs
My mother loves the Lotte Japanese gum that is made with Xylitol, a natural sugar substitute. It can be found almost anywhere, including in a 100 Yen Store, which is the Japanese equivalent of a dollar store.
Lots of young folks love the Japanese Hi-Chews candy, which is the Japanese version of Starbust Fruit Chews, except they donβt get stuck in your teeth.
Instead of buying statues or monuments, such as from the Tokyo Skytree, I prefer to buy location branded snacks and treats, such as chocolate and cookies. Who doesnβt love treats?
The Tokyo Skytree observation tower actually has an entire mall attached to the base of it. You could do all of your souvenir shopping just in the Tokyo Skytree.
Nearly every train station also has an entire mall attached to it, with a market in the the basement. This is another opportunity to do all of your souvenir shopping.
And finally, for last minute shoppers, if you arrive early for your flight back hall, there is essentially a mini-mall in the Narita and Haneda Airports, again providing you with enough options to accomplish all of your souvenir shopping.
